In a collaborative effort, our TLCS accounting staff from various branches completed a comprehensive training on strengthening records, controls, and risk response to better safeguard our cooperative’s financial books. It was designed to focus on enhancing the integrity, security and accuracy of financial records. Thus, equipping the participants with the tools, strategies, and necessary mindset to uphold the highest standards of financial stewardship.
Furthermore, this is to address the challenges of our accounting staff in their day-to-day accounting responsibilities, where they must enhance their understanding of internal control systems, and how to effectively implement, monitor, and evaluate controls with financial processes. Strengthen record-keeping practices to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable accounting standards and co-op policies. Lastly, to develop their ability to identify, assess, and respond to financial and operational risks, including fraud prevention and detection.
This training represents a significant investment in our accounting staff and our cooperative’s future. We are not only safeguarding our assets but also building a foundation of trust and transparency for all our members. This collaborative effort ensures that our financial books remain a reliable and accurate reflection of our cooperative’s health and integrity.
