Super Typhoon Uwan devastatingly affected Northern Luzon. The Besao community was not spared from the widespread power outages. As a cooperative of choice, TLCS Besao responded quickly to aid and give a helping hand.
With the representation of our staff from the branch and gasoline station, we have mobilized an emergency relief center. Our cooperative’s initiative included essential support by offering free charging stations for mobile devices and power banks. Free WiFi access to stay updated to advisories and to be able to communicate to their loved ones. Emotional comfort and warmth by serving free coffee and refreshments. Distributed free meals to individuals cleaning the road and fixing the current lines. Most importantly, it promoted community solidarity during the response and recovery phase of such disasters.
This experience served as a reminder that in times of disaster, simple acts of kindness can bring hope and reassurance. Through unity and compassion, the community proved once again that even the strongest storms cannot weaken the Filipino spirit of helping one another.
